What is the most positive change you notice after you started your yoga practice?
I actually feel that I can self manage my pains and stiffness with my practice of yoga. I used to have a slipped disc, stiff neck and shoulders and a very bad migraine. Before I practiced yoga, I had been visiting countless doctors and massage therapists but all efforts were in vain. Today, I can’t say I am fully recovered but at least I am in control of my health and wellness and I know how to self manage my discomfort till it’s really extreme time to seek medical help.
What is your favorite pose and why?
Child pose because it helps me to stretch well and relax and be at peace.
What is the most difficult part about your practice?
It is hard to self practice at home outside of the weekly classes without a teacher. It is hard to get motivated and be disciplined to do it regularly at home.
What advice would you give to others?
You only have one body this lifetime. Make health your priority and treat your body well and it will serve you well in return. Health is wealth and happiness! Without health there is no meaning to life. We seriously can be in charge of our own health and doctors are not the solutions to our health ailments. Prevention (Yoga) is better than cure.
